Released in July of 2000, Button Men: Fantasy was designed to be a new core set of Button Men. Fantasy contains twelve gorgeous characters from Larry Elmore's best work, including mighty warriors, powerful monsters, and other denizens of the Elmore world. The set also uses a new type of variable die, called Option Dice This set includes 2 of 12 Character Buttons: Lark & Theophilus Other Characters: Luce & Frasquito, Mischa & Chang • Aldric & Elihu, Farrell & Nikolai • Vincent & Cesare Lark's Dice Needed: 8, 20, 2/8, 4/12, 6/10 Theophilus' Dice Needed: 8, 10, 12, 10/20, 20/30 Dice are not included. It is a simple, but strategic, dice game with characters depicted on pin-back buttons. In the years following, the list of characters has grown by the hundreds. Buttonmen is easy to learn, easy to store and carry, and quick to play. To play, each player needs one of the character buttons and the polyhedral dice listed on the button. The players fight several rounds of combat, rolling dice and capturing their opponent's dice. The player that captures the most 'sides' from the opponent while keeping more of his/her own wins the round. The player who wins 3 rounds, wins the game. The Dice: Each character is composed of several dice of different sizes, between 4 (or 2) and 30 sides, as specified by the numbers on that button. As a general rule, small dice mean speed and large dice mean strength
